Show me your 1 ton dually's
I am looking at buying a 69 one ton dually that has no box....I'm not sure what kind of box they came with and I wasnted to see what everyone else has. I know I could put a flat bed on it but want to see what everyone else has.

Re: Show me your 1 ton dually's
they didn't come with pick up beds or boxes at all. Some had flatbeds from GM, but most were cab/chassis.
A one ton with single rear wheels could be had with a 9 foot step side bed 67 - 72, or a fleet side bed mid 68 - 72 (the latter were longhorns) but no dual rear wheels with pick up beds. |

Re: Show me your 1 ton dually's
However there are a few dually owners here that have fleetside beds with stepside fenders mounted to the outside to cover the dual wheels. I think 67 C30 has one doesn't he? Maybe he'll put up a pic or two.

Re: Show me your 1 ton dually's
there's been MANY with pick up beds installed... and mine may just get a DRW rear thrown under it. I was just mentioning that to his comment of "not sure what kind of box came on them".

Re: Show me your 1 ton dually's
Yep, that's me! There are several others on that have them too. Mine came with a flatbed, and I cut the frame to a 127" wheelbase, added a LWB bed, and cut down stepside fenders to make a dually pickup. My rearend is also wider than would have come in a '67 - '72. Its a 14 bolt out of a '97 C3500 dually pickup.

Re: Show me your 1 ton dually's
Well that looks pretty cool to me....
Is that a longhorn box? Its hard to find a box in Canada seeing as they have all been rotted out from all the salt we use for the roads in the winter....so I would assume mine will be a flat bed. I only wish it was easier to transport parts from the USA. You guys are lucky. Thanks for the post.

Re: Show me your 1 ton dually's
he shortened the frame to a 127 inch wheel base, so that is a normal 8 foot bed.

Re: Show me your 1 ton dually's
I always wanted to build a Stepside dually where I`d widen/tub the bed.I guess shipping new parts is cost prohibitive, huh?Especially with the cost of new parts.
