my transfer case is a model 208 with a low gear of 261 i was just wondering if this is a good transfer case

M1008 CUCV's had 208, must be tough but aren't they chain driven?

fwiw, I know of a couple guys who have 208's in wheeling trucks, and they flog them pretty hard. they only break if you smack the case on something or jump and bottom the driveshafts out. they do have chains, but the low range is better than a 205's.
