I was wondering what does everyone think about wheel adapters. I found a really good buy on a set of Corvette wheels and tires.
C5 corvette wheels 17x9.5 18x10.5 They will be put on my 71 which I drive everyday.

Re: Wheel adapters
I had a set 1.5 inch to clear the breaks but you may really want to check your backkspace it looks really deep

Re: Wheel adapters
He said I could come try them on before buying them. But I would need the spacers before I could tell if they would fit.

What kind of wheel issues are you talking about.

Re: Wheel adapters
The wheels are 5 lug on a 2 wheel drive starting in 71. Chevy made 2 differant lug pattern's though for cars & trucks. This is why I'm asking. Do people think the adapters are safe for everyday use.

Re: Wheel adapters
As with anything there will be detracters, but I have used billet wheel spacers/adaptors on race cars, 4X4 trucks, and even my ramp truck. I have a set on my 'red. Make sure you get billet ones (I wouldn't use those cheap cast ones) and forget about them. I use a little of the mild loctite on the studs (on the truck) and I've never had them them come loose or anything else. I'd had more weight on my ramp truck than you could ever put on your pickup!

Re: Wheel adapters
Yea the billet ones are what I was looking at. I can get a lot more choices of wheels with them also.
