72 cab mounts which to use?
http://www.lmctruck.com/ICATALOG/CB/full.aspx?Page=115
those or http://www.lmctruck.com/ICATALOG/CB/full.aspx?Page=32 i have nothing of my old mounts left.. i either had to break them or bend them up since they rusted to the truck... so i just pitched the old square metal that came with them.. so i was wondering what would be the better route?? im thinking the more expensive one is the stuff i need...

Re: 72 cab mounts which to use?
the only diff seems to be poly vs. rubber, and no mounting hardware or mounting hardware.

This is just personal experience, nothing scientific to back it up... Unless you are building a drag truck or will be using it off road most of the time I would not use the Poly mount bushings. The Poly mount bushings are solid, (no give to them) and the rubber mount bushings are soft. The poly mount bushings transfer a lot of the road vibrations to the cab where the rubber ones don't. I know the Poly's look cool and they are cheaper but they just don't do what cab mount bushings are supposed to do. Just my 2¢ worth LockDoc

Re: 72 cab mounts which to use?
I put the rubber one's from LMC on my truck... look original and have some "give" to them...
I did use poly bushings on my tranny mount and leaf bushings though..

Re: 72 cab mounts which to use?
tim do some price checking. I think I have seen these things from more than one vendor at better prices than $150.
I see powell72 gave you a link. Also, It seems as if Early Classic Enterprices sells good stuff. And I know Brothers has them at $60-$70 LOL |

Re: 72 cab mounts which to use?
I had to change the cab on my 71project 4X4 as the guy I got it from did alot of off road with the truck and he had changed the mounts to poly. When I got the truck I noticed that the rear cab mounts were coming through the floor and had demoed the floor from using the poly mounts. go with rubber!

Re: 72 cab mounts which to use?
It depends upon what your intended use is. On my '73 Camaro fun car I ended up using solid aluminum and I was amazed at the increased handling that change made with just a slight increase in road vibration/feel. On the shortbed that I am putting together now, I am trying all poly.
