Bent Custom and Performance Back-half

Here's a couple sneak peak shots of a back-half we are working on. Everything is designed in house. From what I see and have learned over the years is why take something that isn't broke and try to fix it. These mid 60's trucks have *****en rear suspensions. All you need to do is improve upon it. I've redesigned my own rails and suspension mounting points so you can have the proper look and ride. I took the factory trailing arms which I might add are cool looking to start with. I then reinforced modified and added some look. Let me know what you think? I will have more pics of completion in the next couple weeks.

Re: Bent Custom and Performance Back-half

Those are gonna look so good when mounted..I was already leaning towards trailing arms for my c20 conversion and this settles it. I've been considering fabing my own with a built in 2" drop and pinion correction for a 3" drop spring. Is the crossmember also stock modified.

Yes it is a CPP. But it wont look like one when were done. If there's enough demand for making these back half's we'll make something better. This is kind of a prototype/second version of my old truck.

The dimensions are still stock hole and mounting wise. The top and bottom plates are about 120thou. and the back was just capped. So hight is probable just about a 1/4 more than stock.

Looks great!! What is the wall thickness of that 2X4 tubing? Also what do you use to bend it?

I believe they're just 'capped' or boxed factory trailing arms.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

The frame started out as .125 flat sheet. It's alittle labor intense but it's four sides welded together and then radiused along the edges. It's the only way in my opinion to do a complete backhalf. It's clean simple and all the specifications and design are the way I want it . No guess work. There is still going to be more hand made peaces and I'm not sure if I want to lay the shocks parallel to the ground.
