TBI in our trucks
I got a 1991 4x4 4.3 blazer for a really low price cause it was hit in right front. Has anyone put a 4.3 in our trucks with all the computer and wires? Will a 4.3 pull our trucks?
Or is there a way to dumb the engine with an older intake and regular carb? (would prefer this for ease of installation) Did they make a 4.3 with regular carb? What would I use for a distributor ( Year)? Sorry about all the questions but I'm v6 illiterate. Any info from the motorheads on here would be appreciated.

I don't think you would be happy with 160 horsepower in a 4000 pound truck. That's my opinion.

i agree with 70c10 on the power issue, it would be a slug. you can find an intake and carb it, and you'd have to throw in an hei distributor too. "if" you're gonna do it, buy the literature that explains how to hook up the ecm (computer) and use the tbi. to go and hunt down the necessary parts to change over everything would be cost prohibitive and tedious cuz not many were made and the aftermarket parts are expensive. good luck

Actually, the 350 in '72 was rated at 175 net horsepower. That is only 15 more than the 4.3. It isn't gonna be very fast, but the 4.3 is a good, reliable motor that gets decent MPG. Edelbrock makes intake manifolds and camshaft for it. Painless wiring has a wiring harness to retrofit a TBI motor into a older vehicle. However, for the money spent, why not just but a TBI 350 in the truck?

I'm kinda with 70c10. I understand that the 30 was much better in '72, but I had a 4.3 in a full size '88 and hated every minute of it. Still wish I had that ruck back, but only 'cuz it was my first car.
