Help with engine casting number

This is a 350 i put in and the casting number v1215fra of the passenger side of the block. I check every where but still cant find out what year the engine is or any info. Any info would help thanks

Get the number off the drivers side rear of the block and go to Mortec.com This will tell you what you want to know . Bob

Thanks guys one more question. why does a 327 put out more hp than a 350 from factory. I thought i had a 350 but its a 327

Depends on what it came in /what carb/ what heads/ too many variables to answer that question . My 68 was a 250 horse 327 4barrel which some 350 were that and some were higher horsepower . I will say that the 327 is a very good motor and is capable of making good horsepower numbers . Hope this helps. Bob
