Torque Arm

So hopefully within the next year I will be working on converting my rear suspension from a leaf spring w/caltracs to a trailing arm/watts link. My question is anyone run a torque arm with the trailing arms? I'm not sure if it's really necassary with the trailing arms. Anyone have any good opinions?

What would be your reason for using a TQ arm with the trailing arms?

All I see with the is the potential to bind the suspension. The TQ rm is used with a style of lower control arm that allows the pinion to rotate up. The TQ arm keeps the pinion from rotating up under acceleration. The fatory truck arms have mounting pads that are welded to the axle and once bolted down to a the arms, there is no way for them to rotate up.

I couldn't think of anyway that the rear could rotate with the trailing arms, but I thought I would ask those that use the truck arms.

Couldn't have said it better. Look under a 82-02 F-Body and you will be able to see how a torque arm rear suspension works.
