My 87 2wd to 4wd junkyard truck
Seen alot of other build ups on here, as well as "junkyard" trucks. Not being junk, but rather than bought from a junkyard. Here is a shot of mine. This is how I bought it, less hood and front end swap. I did nothing to the engine, tranny, wheels, brakes, body, nothing. Washed it, but that's about it.
Specs on it are, TBI350, 700r, screamer 3.08s, 225/75s on 8" ralleys, Silverado fully loaded less cruise for some reason. Real clean interior, one tiney tare in the seat, cracked dash, (aren't they all?) I put in a headliner, tach dash with white gauges. (Thanks to BLE Burban for the idea). It's not gonna stay a 2wd. If you look at the front frame, I got a set of B52s from DIY4x bolted on. Using 6" BDS springs, HP60, 14ff rear, 64" long 4" lift springs, 2.5" shackle flip, div 205, 35" boggers on 12" chrome Barts. Right now I'm gonna leave the 350/700 in, see how it is, but probly gonna swap in a TBI454 and a NV4500. I have a column for stick that has tilt and delay wipers, hydro clutch setup already. http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2774...ib?vhost=rides http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2234...nX?vhost=rides http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2998...fh?vhost=rides http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2369...JC?vhost=rides

Looks like a nice solid project. The dash looks great. Gotta love those running boards.

I don't know why they are still on there. When I looked at the truck before I bought it, said that was gonna be the first thing to come off....

In my link, that is Lantz. They have some decent stuff up there now and then.
Gonna clean the garage out tomorrow, hopefully get started on it...

Re: My 87 2wd to 4wd junkyard truck
I wish I could find something like that around here. People want a fortune even for junk here. That would be perfect for the 2x swap I want to do to my blazer...

Re: My 87 2wd to 4wd junkyard truck
Look on Craigslist. I looked all over that area for a crew cab, I found alot of trucks this style. But then realized I couldn't get one home without the wife knowing. Need to get one done before I start another....

Re: My 87 2wd to 4wd junkyard truck
yeah the cold and taxes suck....
I used to go there all the time, but they pissed me off lately. Guy there owes my money, and still have to buy friggin parts... But on to the truck. Might actually have the axles under it by the latest of the weekend. Need to get a bunch of grade 8 bolts and washers and stuff....Pics to come..
