Look what arrived in my driveway an AZ 72 K5

You gotta love shippers with fast service. I bought this from Mike in December, I didnt want to drive it in the salt so he kept her for me till Wednesday. he delivered the truck to a Flying J in Winslow AZ and it was on the road 6pm local time 9 pm EST. i got a call yesterday at 4:20 pm (43 hrs later) and it was the truck driver with my new project (toy) Talk about fast I didnt expect it till next week. Had to do some basic tune up stuff to the carb to get her to run decent .... the truck lived at 6000 ft and I live at 300 ft above sea level... so I leaned the carb out and reset the mixture, retarded the timing to 4 BTDC and adjusted the idle to 700... she fires right up! purrs with no back fires and no toxic fumes!!!! and its a 454!!!!

is that mud on the rocker than? It, made it look rusty if it is. I love the 68 front end. It looks like a really solid rig. congrats!

Re: Look what arrived in my driveway an AZ 72 K5

the rocker on the PS is trash and will need minor work on the outerfloor... this think has very few door or window seals that would stop any rain..... but the pocket behind the doors are perfectly clean.... other than some sand/ mud.... the P/O before Mike tried to put some panels in her judging by the size of the bead it appears he used a crackerbox.... grinding and fineesse should solve that....and the Truck was a desert rat with saddle tanks (long gone) which meant the rocker boxes were removed... so ill have to get some and re install.... but ay least i can see how clean the floor is undeneath... I can see threads on EVERY bolt on this thing

Re: Look what arrived in my driveway an AZ 72 K5

Dan, glad it made it and you are happy with it. I had this up for sale for quite a while and had some folks interested, but just never sold it. I began to worry that with so many prospects and then not being buyers scared some folks away, but in the end I knew the Blazer was solid and well worth the price.

I really miss it now that I see picts of it in NY! Enjoy, my 72 2wd will be headed to OH in a few months, and for the rest of you guys, Western trucks, Blazers, and Burbs all more or less look like this, get out here and buy one!! The extra $$$ for the selling price and shipping, and or fuel to drive home is WAY cheaper than the pound of flesh some of you guys "spend" fixing rot/rust, IMO? Glad you like it Dan and sorry for the mud, I wheeled it a few times before I let it go!!

Yeah, I'm slightly jealous. Looks like you got a good deal

I'm in rochester regularly, so I may have to stop by and take a look at yours and get some reference pictures for when I do mine.

Re: Look what arrived in my driveway an AZ 72 K5

it had a GMC rt fender and a chevy Lt fender... surface rusty but not bad the GMC fender might be a spare for the 68 but overall not bad for solid surface rusty no rot parts a liitle time with the wire wheel and some POR-15 they will look like new
the only rot is minor in the gmc cup on the inside... anyone need some gmc 2500 sierra grande emblems? and another beat up 71 72 grille frame
