My engine "misses" under load. For example, when I shift from high rpm 3rd gear to low rpm 4th gear, it usually misses, sometimes a series of "misses." Or 3rd gear going up a hill at lower speeds.

Got a recently rebuilt 350 with newer edelbrock performer intake, newer edelbrock 600 cfm carb with electric choke, newer summit HEI.

Any ideas on what might be causing this?

I had similar problem found the valves were a shade to tight re adjusted and it went away

too cold a range of plugs will do that too. What are you using for plugs? Ive been using AC 43 TS's gapped at .055" after a similar problem with a colder range plug that had occasional miss problems.

Id check your timing. Might be a bit retarded. Try re gapping your plugs, maybe make the gap a bit wider. Your truck could also be a bit cold. Is your choke working properly?

Thanks for the replies - some good advice. I checked the timing, it's dead on. The problem is a new one, so I'm inclined to think that it might not be the valves. I'll check the plugs, though, appreciate the tip on the hotter plugs.

Could it be fuel? I thought that maybe my fuel pump was going south. Choke could be it, but it's a fairly new Edelbrock with electric choke.
