Big block 3 speed combo?

My 68 has as 6cyl and a 3 speed (Saginaw). The 6cyl needs rebuilt, but the 3 speed is in great shape. I have a good 454 big block, can I drop that in place of the 6 cyl keeping the 3 speed? The reason I ask is that it’s the cheapest way to go V8 and it’s what I have. What are the potential issues any heads up before I tackle it this spring? Thanks

Re: Big block 3 speed combo?

The big block will fit, you will need Big Block motor mounts and the frame might need to be trimmed due to the exhaust clearance

enjoy the build
