Frame swap question again

I know concepts like this have been hashed through before, but I am looking at possibly swapping my 66 fs swb onto a late model Tahoe 2wd (2005 or 2006). I was looking at doing an LSx swap first but in looking for the motor I stumbled on an entire rolling chassis (everything except the body) for not much more than the motor and tranny. The wheelbase is 116” with front and rear tracks at 65” and 66” respectively. I haven’t seen anyone that has done this yet, but has anyone looked at it? Can anyone think of anything that would be a major show-stopper?

Re: Frame swap question again

The first thing that comes to mind is that those newer frames are considerably wider from the firewall back than the '66 frame. I don't know how they compare when viewed from the side though. You might want to take a look at that. When putting a '60-'66 body onto a '73-'87 frame you end up with a body lift of 3-4" when it's done.

Re: Frame swap question again

Personaly I think you would be better off using the Tahoe as a complete donor and retaining the original frame. JM2 Cents....
