Bought a 70 Chevy Big Block today

I decided to finally purchase this truck today after thinking about it for a long time. The previous owner said that it turns over but he couldn't get it to start.
My 68 Longhorn is at the body shop so my plan is to drive the 70 for a while until I get my 68 back. Hopefully I can get it running, if not, I will be selling it sooner than later. Please comment on the pluses and minuses on the truck.

Thank you guys!

Is this a factory 8-track player with the FM adapter?

Re: Bought a 70 Chevy Big Block today

I would love to see a truck with the original color code 597 to see how the big block used to look like before someone repainted it.

I likey the truck alot!!! The 8-Track is definately "from" a factory, but I do not think that GM ever used that stock, maybe dealer Option? But I am by no means an expert, that said it is one Bad @$$ Radio, Coolest I have seen in a long time! Would not change that for anything, 8-tracks are pretty snazzy IMO

Re: Bought a 70 Chevy Big Block today

That is NOT a factory 8 track. Not even close.

Do a search here and 8 track info should come up.

However, if you wish to sell that 8 track with the FM converter i am interested in buying it.

Re: Bought a 70 Chevy Big Block today

fine69: the 8 track with the FM converter stays with the truck.
This truck is begging to be restored. How rare is the color code 597?

Re: Bought a 70 Chevy Big Block today

Thanks guys for your nice comments. Here are a couple of pictures of the interior. The interior doesn't look that bad, but then again, I'm not an expert.
