I need some wheels!

My '62 has the original split rims and I'm looking to purchase some "rallye" style wheels.\
I ordered a set from my local tire shop and explained about the backspacing issue these trucks have.
I was assured the rims would fit.
Well today they came in and don't you know- they didn't fit.
They were 15x8 with a 4.25 backspace and hit on the upper a-arm.
I was pi$$ed. I waited 10 days for the rims, we even measured my 15x7 for a 3.75 backspacing.
So the guy looks in his catalogue and makes a few calls.
"Nobody makes a rallye rim to fit your truck"......WTH?
So Friends and fellow members, Where can I buy a nice set of rallyes to fit my truck?
They don't even have to be "corvette" style I just need some nice wheels to fit my poor old '62
Todd
edit** They are six lug rims. Shouldn't be too hard?

Re: I need some wheels!

Are you running drum or disc? Are these 'THE' wheel or just rollers for the project? I cruise Craigslist all the time and if you need rollers there should be tons of newer style factory wheels.....just the hub hole is smaller diameter.
Could you put a small spacer in there and get it to work? ...like 1/4"?

As far as rally wheels go, you go to the aftermarket and get 16 or 17" from Stockton or Wheel Vintiques....I think they do 'em in 6-lug.

Seems as though Ive seen many 6-lug trucks running the 73-87 4wd rally wheels that came 6-lug from the factory.

Re: I need some wheels!

drum brakes
I'm not looking to spend big $$$
I'm not too keen on the spacers, too many horror stories.
CL has been a bust so far...

Re: I need some wheels!

Everybody mentions horror stories and Ive run all different types with zero issues. Anyway, how bad was the hit on the a-arms? Was it on a turn or just trying to bolt it straight on? My 18's hit the a-arms on full turns...no stops and 5.25" of backspace.

Re: I need some wheels!

Are you running factory 6 on 5.5" hubs? If so, any wheel that will fit on a later model six lug Chevy with a 6 on 5.5" lug pattern will fit properly on your truck.

I just found a set of four 6 lug Rally truck wheels, complete with caps & rings. They had a near-new set of 265/75R15 Bridgestone Revo tires on them with 90% tread on them and for good measure the fellow included a matching spare that had never been mounted.

They were a steal at $150.00 cash and the seller and his son help me load them on my trailer.

There are lots of good deals out there, so be patient and one will come your way.

Re: I need some wheels!

I believe the 73-87 15X8 4x4 rallys are zero offset, meaning they have 4 inch back-spacing

I'm also running the 4x4 rally wheels on my 62 pickup ..No problem with clearence or turning .. I have seen atleast 2 different type of GM rally wheels for the suburbans 81-87 , the rallys that I have on and a set of Chrome ones that look nice , with multiple holes .
