Oil Pan gasket
Ok, put on your thinking caps. On my 82 4 wheel 3/4. The oil pan is leaking at about every place it can. With the 4 wheels that have the smaller crossmember. Do I have to jack up the engine to drop the pan, or will it come right out? Everybody tells me that it will come right down, and it looks like it will, but one person tells me that I will have to jack the engine up. Anybody know from experience?

Wish I could help ya on that one. I've only done 2wd. Don't know enough about the 4wd

anytime ive ever done a 350 motor ive had to jack it up.. i have never done one in a truck tho

84. The pan will fall out on ya if your not careful, LOL. You can change the pan on your 4WD without any problems at all. Thats one of the nice things about 4WD, you have all the room in the world underneath the engine. jim

1984 K20 350M engine with 465,000 miles. Well, it's finally done!! Almost 2 years of work, but it was really worth the effort. Little stuff left to do is mount winch, wet sand & buff out and build belly pan\running boards. Body work takes lots and LOTS of beer!!!! The worst thing you could do is get into my sights, but that don't matter, you'll never know it, cause you'll never hear the shot  Jim or Paladin whichever you choose.

Thanks. I wouldn't think that there would be any difference between the 82 and 84. So it sounds like it is going to be an easy job.
