Re: Camaro LS1 LT1 Dual Electric Fan

i put them on my truck when i swapped in the 5.3L

sorry not great pics. on the bottom i trimmed the plastic so that it fit into the clips like the original fan shroud did. i then just made a simple flat bracket to secure the top as you can see. nothing fancy but works great no probs. doesn't touch the radiator at all either.

Re: Camaro LS1 LT1 Dual Electric Fan

That's a nice setup, I may look for one of those. What years do I need to look at for the setup? Did you use the senor's to run them or just straight wire them?
I wonder if they would fit inside the stock fan shroud, they look as though they have enough room!

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

And I'm going to guess the battery has been moved to the driver side to make room for the air intake box on the passenger side?

Re: Camaro LS1 LT1 Dual Electric Fan

I added dual batteries when i did the 5.3L swap. the LS1 fans were from 98 to about 04. camaro, firebird, corvettes, gtos, the GMC/Chevy truck fans are similar also but they didnt start being installed until 2006.

Re: Camaro LS1 LT1 Dual Electric Fan

Thanks for posting the year. I went by one of the local yards yesterday and they wanted $75.00 for a dual setup. They wanted to know what year and I couldn't tell them. Does this sound about right on price. He Guaranteed it also.
He also had some big small dual setups, what about those, has anybody tried them? I was thinking maybe have the big one running at temp., then the smaller one kick on only if I'm running the A/C. Any sugestions on this?
Sicmaro,
what is the big red block in that last picture?

Re: Camaro LS1 LT1 Dual Electric Fan

That price is pretty good. Yeah normally the 2nd fan is wire to the a/c clutch to only come on with the a/c.

The red block is a factory junction block that is on all 4.8/5.3/6.0 truck motors. I re used all the factory battery cables.

Re: Camaro LS1 LT1 Dual Electric Fan

Thanks for the reply. I may wait until after Charlotte Auto Fair to see if I run across a deal there but this yard had about 200 differant fans hanging up in the shop area. I like the dual setup with a large & small fan.
What do you use the double batteries for?
