rear disc conversion

I have an 86 c10 with power disc brakes in the front and drum in the rear. I would like to convert the rears to disc. Do you need to change the master or just the proportioning valve when you do this? Thanks for any help.

Re: rear disc conversion

I forgot to add that I have a really lumpy cam in the motor. The lsa is about 110 degrees, so the brakes are a little sluggish due to the lack of vacuum as is.

Re: rear disc conversion

Been reading some of the old threads. Can you use the front stock truck rotors with the 5x5 pattern on the back and use a mid 80's camaro caliper and buy or fab the mounting brackets?

Re: rear disc conversion

If better brakes is what your looking for, the rear disc won't fix it. An ele. vac. pump would though.

Re: rear disc conversion

You need to change both so you will have a Disc to Disc master and valve
