Re: Difference in radiator supports?? 67-68..69-72?
Ditto, I have a New 1967-68 support sitting in a spare room.
Currently working on a 1970. The headlight buckets are different. (actually i think the part refered to as 'headlight bucket' is the same, but the mount is in a different location.) I Also noticed different part numbers for the hood latch and hood latch support. And the omittion of the stone deflector. Last edited by Kayotic; 03-22-2009 at 07:10 PM. |

Re: Difference in radiator supports?? 67-68..69-72?
On A 67&68 rad support the buckets bolt on and a 69-72 rad support the buckets are molded in it ,if you compare the two ,the 67-68 will be flat with a hole at the point where the headlight bucket goes the other will be rasied, it looks like acording to the photos you have a 69-72 rad support

Re: Difference in radiator supports?? 67-68..69-72?
Shoot bud, excelent question...
If i was able to see outside I would look at my '70 support and see if it has 6 threaded bolt holes along the bottom front. In 1967 - 1968 that's where the stone deflector bolts up. 1969 and up may or may not have them. |

Re: Difference in radiator supports?? 67-68..69-72?
The new radiator support you have is a 69-72 support. The welded on perches for the headlight buckets identify it as such. The earlier supports are essentially the same only without those extra pieces. They just reposition the headlights for the newer grill. Your old one looks like it has the same perches on the underside. If your truck is a 69-72 and all your worried about is the extra hole for your AC lines then yes you can just drill another hole and the rest should bolt up.

Re: Difference in radiator supports?? 67-68..69-72?
thanks jholley.. i plan on drilling that hole and running braided line... bent the old hard lines when we got the old support out.. oh well those lines were leaky anyways... thought braided would look better..
