Air Ride Big Red 4 way valve block question...
I posted this question in the Air-Ride Tech sale thread but thought I'd get more traffic here...
The big red 4-way valve block electrical receptacles for the solenoids are the plastic/harness plug-in type (i.e. male/female adapter), here's a link to a picture of what I'm talking about: http://www.ridetech.com/products/Rid...1496-2501.html From the picture, it is hard to tell which wires go to which valves and which are +/-. Anyone with experience wiring one of these things up: Where can I find the female receplacle connectors that run to the switchbox/power supply, and how would I connect the wires to the receptacles? I couldn't find anything on their site... Thanks! |

Re: Air Ride Big Red 4 way valve block question...
those 2 plugs are weather-pack connectors.....
you should be able buy the connectors and crimpers at your local auto parts store looks like the wires to the ring terminals are ground and the 2 plugs with 4 wires each are the positive wires from each of the 8 solenoids. how are you doing your switches? are you running 4 SPDT switches?

If you're using momentary SPDT switches (often described as (ON)-OFF-(ON)), you'll feed +12v to the center of the switch, and then wire one valve's "up" and "down" to the outboard pins. Ditto for the other valves.

OK good deal. You're right. The loop terminals are for ground and the 4 prong receptacles are for the + leads from the switch. I appreciate the help.

on a side note......
on that block, what size are the ports? what is the advantage of a block over individual valves? other than space savings?

Another question, do the control panels that air-ride ride sells have the connectors that I was talking about? |
