Tailgate Transport to Tuscon

I have a tailgate that needs to be "transported" from Northern California to Tuscon sometime in early April. The tailgate has been "finished" and is in mint condition so I am leery of shipping it. Is there anyone out there that is heading that way? I would be willing to pay a reasonable amount for your time, fuel, etc...

If not, my option is to build a shipping crate and transport it by courier. Can anyone suggest a shipping company that would transport something like that carefully and for a "reasonable" price.

Re: Tailgate Transport to Tuscon

I believe Hartrob shipped one in a box to 67chevyredneck. he made a wooden box and encased the tailgate in it. I believe he shipped via fedex. Any carrier you use i would make sure to insure it for an agreed valuie. I have heard alot about www.uship.com which is where they bid to ship your item, but i have not used it. good luck!
