Amp/Voltage Meter problem
Hey guys, I bought a tach dash off of ebay about a month ago to put in our '87 K30. Anyway, the Circuit board is not having a good contact with metal clips behind the cluster housing. Is there anyway to bypass this, like hook a ground and positive? My dad is curious because we thought it might just be the gauge, but we tried 3 different ones. He had also mentioned that the circuit board was pulled out from underneath of those metal clips, thus not making any kind of connection. He tried putting the circuit board underneath the contact clips, but we still haven't figured it out. It is the only gauge that isn't working. Thanks Trevor

Re: Amp/Voltage Meter problem
What I would do is solder a positive and negative wire on back of the gauge and splice the positive into gauge harness power wire and the negative to a good place under the dash

Re: Amp/Voltage Meter problem
Anyone else think this will work without any problems? Thanks Trevor

Re: Amp/Voltage Meter problem
You can get a brand new printed circuit for $70-80. If there's any dark spots on those traces, you've got a break. I've seen people solder in jumper wires before, but that looks ghetto and is asking for trouble down the line.

Re: Amp/Voltage Meter problem
Solder a piece of wire across the breaks in the traces, shouldn't be any problem. Might put a thin layer of RTV over them. It might not look good but who is going to see them? I don't see any problem with adding soldering some wire to the gauge itself. Again, not pretty but who will see it.
