McGaughy's brake kits
Anybody know if McGaughy's disc brake kit p/n 63157 for 60-72 trucks work with the stock drum-brake spindles? Found a kit on ebay for $269. The seller says they "should" work with stock spindles. Any info would be appreciated.

Re: McGaughy's brake kits
Anything I have read on the disc brakes has read that you have to have the 71-72 style spindles or aftermarket ones to work...the drum brake spindle won't work. But someone else that knows 100% can chime in...

That kit is supposed to have come with spindles (I have that kit) it will not work with drum spindles.

Re: McGaughy's brake kits
There's no mount for the calipers on the drum spindles. The spindles are about $49.00 or so IIRC.They do bolt up easily. If you swap spindles paint them before installing. They will rust if you don't.
Someone used to make(they may still) a kit with brackets that would bolt to the drum spindles and allow you to run disc brakes.I don't have the link anymore and can't remember who it was.

Re: McGaughy's brake kits
I thought I saw some brackets on here a while back that would bolt on the drum spindles in the holes for the backing plates and the calipers would bolt to the brackets. Anyone know who makes 'em or sells 'em?
