....73-87 bench seats-how close are they to bolting right into a 67-72? (without drilling holes?)

I have heard that they can't be used without modifying the seat bracket because in the 73-87 trucks the floor is not level like the 67-72. or maybe it is the other way around. I am sure some experts will chime in soon.

Edit: I just looked at "the real reason you bought a truck" in your signature and see that you have pictures of a couple of the bridges around my town (okarche) that I cross quite often. Its kinda cool because I never knew the history of those bridges. The Uncle John creek bridge is commonly refered to as "monster" and is a local gathering place sometimes.

The floor is indeed raised on the 73 and up trucks, making the seating height very low if used in your truck. I kind of have a question to go along with this one, I was wondering how close the 73 and up bench seat would be close to working if you used the 67-72 seat brackets? I chucked my original seat and put in a 88 and up bench in it (front seat bolts match those on my truck). Anyhow, I noticed a real nice 73 and up seat that was already out, and it looked to have similar mounting points on the seat for the brackets to bolt to that were on my long gone 69 seat? Just a similar question, not meaning to jack your thread, just a similar question and it might be of help to you. By the way the 88 up seat sits well, but just slightly narrower than the stock one was, but it still looks okay. Good luck with your seat!

You'd be better off with a late 80's early 90's seat. They fit pretty well, are quite slim, and pretty darn comfy.
