Question Which alternator?

Gotta replace my internally regulated alternator. What model/year truck should I be asking for? I was thinking '87 Silverado. I'll probaly be running AC in the future, so higher amps would be best.

Re: Which alternator?

Go to a local alternator shop where they are re-built on site. They can make a one-wire, higher amp one for you.

Re: Which alternator?

If you already have an internally regulated alternator then this is the way to go. It works for the external conversion also.
