My '96 steers hard
Ive owned my s10 for quite a few years & its always steered pretty hard. I always just thought thats the way they were but I drove one the other day that felt normal. Do I need a new pump? I would think that it would have gotten worse or at least gotten noisy if its been bad this long. Anyone? Todd?

In my experience with bad pumps, they usually whine when going bad or just idling. What does your fluid look like? Could it be in the column?

It doesnt make any noise. I havent checked the fluid (for condition) & havent even thought about the column. Ill have to get it inside & look it over closer I guess. Thanks...

Grease all the tie rods and linkages. One or more are probably dry!!

Take it to a lube shop. They have grease guns with air pressure. A normal gun may not grease the joint properly.

Fat tires/bigger rims, etc?
I had an 86 toyota truck that steered fine until I put wider rims and tires on the truck, then it steered like crap, but I didn't care because I thought my rims were cool  My 99 dime steers "easy."
