67 air condition compressor location

I have a 1967 CST fleetside with a 327 engine and factory a/c. The engine casting numbers say that it is the right engine, but the heads have been changed to ones with the accessory mounting holes type. My problem is that I can't find a photo of the engine on an orginial factory air set up on a 67, so I don't know for sure, but I think my compressor is mounted on the wrong side. It is mounted on the drivers side like on the 72. I think it should be on the passengers side. Anyone have a photo of the factory stock location of the compressor on the 67? I think the a/c was mounted to the side it was on with these heads. I'm confused. Can any one settle what is factory correct for me? Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: 67 air condition compressor location

No pic, but I'm pretty sure all the factory V8 a/c setups had the compressor on the passenger side.

Search the parts board, there's usually someone parting one out.

You will find this sight the best forum about 67-72 and trucks. Only Site Supporters can post For Sale (FS), Want To Buy (WTB), Want To Trade (WTT) ot Whats It Worth (WIW). Membership is $25 but it will be the best investment you can make for your truck. You want used parts...there here, new parts, there here...trade parts, it's possible...and want to know the value of a part before you buy...here is the place to get a straight answer.

Re: 67 air condition compressor location

To be correct you`d need the pre-69 heads and brackets.Doesn`t anyone have pictures? That`s what he wanted.Sorry,I don`t have any pics.

Re: 67 air condition compressor location

I have a thread on parts board, 68 chevy with a 327. There is a pic of where a original 67-68 compressor mounts in the thread on the motor pic. Thanks Randy
