Researched what it will cost me in body parts to re-do the 79....roughly 1500 including the cowl hood I want, new door shells, fenders, etc.

Re: the what did you get done thread for 3/29/09
Trying to install an electric brake controller for a trailer. Got it wired from the battery back to the taillights. Just need to hook up the 7 way and mount. By the way, anybody know which color wire off the brake sensor switch is the "cold wire" (white or orange)?

trying to tune this bbc, replaced map, vac hoses, tested cts, among other things. This was kind of a all day project as I kept going up to autozone for parts/advice and to talk with the cute countergirl, who really knows her stuff too

Re: the what did you get done thread for 3/29/09
I meet with my buddy Keith on Saturday morning. He brought a car down from Dallas that he sold and dropped it off. He also brought a bed full of Blazer parts. We chatted for an hour and he headed back home
I loaded the parts up and went to meet with jdurant. We had lunch and loaded his truck full of Blazer goodies. Today I worked in the garage. I sorted my collection of 73-74 core support parts and moved several of them to the garage attic. This helped clear some space so I could get my daughters car in the garage. It's sad when you have a six car garage and only two cars will fit in it. Now I have three in there and room for one more. Hmmmm..

I spent saturday working and then I went to a friends wedding. I took my family to a local car show Sunday. When we arrived it wasn't there...must have looked at the schedule wrong...oh well. Watched the remainder of the NCAA games and relaxed.

I actually pulled the black truck out and cleaned it up a little . I washed the wifes Nissan and my Crewcab while I was in the mood to wash . Cleaned the garage a little and put some things in the garage attic while the truck was out . Bolted on two of the new 20's . Will hopefully get the others mounted this week and get them bolted on as well so I can see if the truck sits right or will need to be lowered/raised in the front or rear . Frank

Re: the what did you get done thread for 3/29/09
truck related, I got quite a bit done. Got my 4 steel wheels and front and rear bumper brackets back from the powdercoaters...the 77 will have new shoes and a rear sport bumper soon. I also completed restoring/dying my door panels, arm rest and door speaker parts for my 73...all that is left to do is restore the chrome trim and door handle cups. When all is said and done, I will have one very nice pair of door panels! Special thanks to Russell for hooking me up with the door speaker kit and measurements/dmensions so I could install them on my door panels! I also went junkyarding Saturday, got quite a few parts for my 77 and parts stash...and am going back next Saturday to pick up a complete 292 inline 6 for the 77, and a couple blazer consoles I am going to restore and sell. Other than that, I bent up the next batch of speaker brackets and they are now ready to ship.

Re: the what did you get done thread for 3/29/09
I worked all day Sat & then went to a buddies 40th b-day party.
Today my buddy Matt & I cut the lwb frame I've been working on for my 67 RetroRod project down to a swb . The frame is squared, leveled, & tacked together. It went pretty well but after confirming my diagonal measurements, I did end up w/a larger gap on one side vs. the other @ the transition from the side-to-bottom of the frame rail (over zealous grinding I guess). A little more work, but not the end of the world. Hopefully I'll get it welded up this week & then start making some re-inforcement plates (I'm over building since it's my first frame chop).

During the week I replaced my unbalanced harmonic balencer with a new one and repainted the motor, and today my dad made a dash trim piece out of left over flooring

Re: the what did you get done thread for 3/29/09
Engine looks good, but if I may offer advice. Pick a theme for your interior and go with it. Right now you have three different themes going on (dash bezel, door panels and now the wood inlay), and they all clash with each other. Pick one...your truck will look a million times better and it will thank you for it.

Re: the what did you get done thread for 3/29/09
Replaced the rear brake line on the 87 and bled the brakes.
Shamless plug - I popped the cash for a premade line from Inline Tube in Sterling Heights MI. Slid right in, had correct spiral wrap, etc. It took me longer to remove the wax and grease covered clip bolts and old line then it did to install the new and bleed the brakes! Saved me probably 2 hours of bending and fitting. Now if only I can get the front calipers to retract enough to take the new pads....

I don't know
Thanks Jeff and Ken, The diamond plate is coming off and I'm going fiberglass the bezel and paint it white, and I'm experimenting on the dash trim

Nothing truck related for me, was able to get the new small block in the truck and got the cam broke in last sunday before I had to leave for Dallas for work. Ended up over in New boston for the week and came home this past saturday. Will hope to get some progress done this week.
