Standard brake hoses won't fit dropped spindles?
I redid the entire front suspension on my '85 2wd and installed dropped spindles. I tried to install the new brake hoses and they don't fit? They are the same as the old ones I took off, but since the spindles have been moved up by 2.5", so have the brake calipers. The factory bend in the stock brake hose bends right into the casting of the spindle where the upper ball joint is. If the bend was shorter the line would go under the ball joint, or if there was no bent at all I could just route it over the ball joint. I can't be the first person to have run into this, someone must have seen this before? Is there a different set of brake hoses that I need to use? I'm really anxious to get the truck back on the road this spring!

I always just bend the steel section of the brake hose near the caliper until the hose passes beneath the ball joint without rubbing.
