There is HUGE LOUD noise when my heater is turned on. What is it? The fan or motor? I havent checked if it does it with my A/C on too. All help appreciated.

Re: Blower fan?
it could be the motor or there might be some trash hitting the fan

Re: Blower fan?
alot of time leafs get down the heater box and make a racket you can pop out the blower motor and vacuum it out and the noise will prolly go away ( it also lets you check the motor

Re: Blower fan?
It sounds like a loud grinding, not like something in it.

Re: Blower fan?
Brad, be careful when you pull the blower motor out. Some nasty critters sometimes make their way in there. I redid a van for a guy once that spent a few years in a barn, thing was full of mice\rats. I stuck an exhaust pipe in thru the window and covered the van with a tarp and let my car idle most of the morning and let it sit till next day covered. 32 dead critters after I got done striping it out. jim

Re: Blower fan?
Well mine hasn't been sitting much. Except the past 1-2 months, but before that it was driven a bunch. But I'll be careful, I just woke up and there was a mouse in a few day old pizza box, he has lived in the house a few months, he tapes the box closed a few mins ago and gassed and lit him. He is now toasty. And now we don't have a mouse problem, except in the 72.
