Towing question
Well i came across a steal the other day and bought it. Its a 1984 C20 Crew Cab Long bed. I went down with my car trailer intending to trailer it back but my 17 foot trailer is just a LITTLE small for this land yacht. So my ? is this, could I rent a Tow Dolly and tow this truck safely 80 miles? I am gonna drop the drive shaft if i do it this way but I want to make sure it will fit on the dolly and have no problems doing it. Thanks for the feedback.

Not sure, that truck weighs about 6000lbs and the dolly can only hole about 2000lbs, if I remember correctly. You could also get a bumper pull.

Yeah, a tow-bar might work better than trying to use a tow dolly. I've seen them on craigslist for $60-$100.

My dad's car dolly couldn't haul my K20 with stock tires, the straps are too small to fit over them. I'd say borrow/rent a larger trailer or bumper pull.

the tow bar may not work either but i was able to tow a 3/4 ton 2wd 82 with a tow dolly from MD to NJ but the truck had no motor . trans or front clip on it. it was tight getting it in there but i was able to use ratchet straps to tie it down

not an expert but using a tow dolly I would back the rear tires
onto the dolly. lock the steering. tie off the steering wheel for good measure . have done it several times with long bed std cabs this way no need to drop the shaft and puts most of the weight on the ground not on the dolly . I'd keep the speed at 55 or below and take your time. again not an expert but have done it with no drama. just make sure you have big enough tow vehicle to handle the package Mark

alright, thanks. Guess I will be looking for a bigger trailer or just paying a tow company to tow it for me.
