putting factory air in non ac truck
i did a search but my slow dial up is taking forever and i couldnt find anything i have a 70 that did not come with air but i may be gettign a rotted parts trck that has all the ac componets in it. how hard is it to put air in my truck. i relize the dash is different but is the firewall different as well? would i need the firewall from the a/c truck or could i just fabricate it to work?

You may want to look into an aftermarket set up. Some will let it look stock inside, but with a better up to date system, and probably cheaper too. |

Re: putting factory air in non ac truck
I think it would be cheaper and less headache to just run a Vintage Air setup. I have a factory AC cab and that's what I'm going to do when I get to that point. I believe you can cut the vents for a non AC cab.

Re: putting factory air in non ac truck
Do yourself a favor and go with an aftermarket set up. Old Air has one that is supposed to be easy to install. Installing factory air in a non-air cab in said to be one of the most difficult conversions to do.
The Old Air unit replaces the whole heater system (no leaky heater coil) and comes complete. One day I'll put one in my truck...Cnut |

They'll put you back about a grand.
I ahve Old Air in my Chevy and Custom Classic Air (? ) in my GMC I like the Custom Classic better.
