I just picked up a 76 long bed bonanza last week and also ordered the 4/6 belltech kit. I noticed some guys on here have a 5.5/7" drop? How did they do this? Different vendor? Now that i am locked into the 4/6" belltech kit, is there anything I can do to get a little lower?
Also- I was told that the boss 20" 335's would fit my rig by discount tire? Is this true? (from what i have read, boss rims dont fit?)

First of all WELCOME!

Second: The bigger drop is just a difference in parts up front. A 3" spindle and 2-3" springs, and then you can add drop shackles to your rear for the extra out back. Depending on how your roads are and if you are going to use it as a DD (daily driver), 4/6 is usually enough for most people.

As far as your lowering options it depends on what is involved in the belltech kit. If it is a 2" spindle, and 2" drop coil then you could go with a 3" spindle and have the 5" you are looking at, or if it's a 3" spindle with a 1" coil then you could go with a 2" coil spring. There are several different combinations, and companies that have lowering kits for these trucks. Since you already have the beltech kit ordered I would just go with that one, and see how it looks. Then if you want lower then change some things up.

I've heard both ways on the Boss wheels. I have heard from a few folks that they do not clear, and I've heard from some that they didn't clear, but Boss made some changes. So maybe someone else will chime in here and get you a clarification.

What are your other plans to the truck?

DJM, McGaughy's, and I think Western Chassis. There are several different vendors. You can look on Stylin' Trucks, or Summit's website.

Here are the wheels that I chose...if they fit.

other plans are paint (burnt orange and white) rollpan, new front bumper, shave mirrors and door handles. After that start on the interior. I will post some more pics on friday after the 4/6 kit is installed and rims.

Looks like a nice truck. That green is starting to pop up on several trucks here lately. It's making a come back. HotRod73 has a 73 LWB that is orange and white. It's not burnt orange though. I prefer Crimson myself!

Welcome from Tx . Nice truck . I do not know about the wheelsaand if they will fit or not but but I do know what the orange and white will look like . It will be nice .

You better look close at the back space available on those wheels. I don't think they are available in the specs that your going to need.

the front centercaps wont fit without a spacer. do a search on here Someone has these wheels.

Oh and i vote to leave it green!!!!

ok so I found the thread from bdydrp. He mentioned a 7/8 spacer. Can someone shoot me some advice on where to buy this or if it is something that needs to be fabbed? if it needs to be made, can you fill me in on the basic idea? thanks- Justin

I have never ran a spacer but i know you can just buy them, no fabbing required.

welcome from longview and nice truck.go talk to schwabs about the spacer.as far as i know as long as you got enough threads for the lug nut it's o.k.

Those wheels might not work. I got mine from discount tire and they are perfect. The thing you will have to worry about is the front. The hub and the bearing dust cap more than likely won't clear.
