Pics of my new 67
Well the truck finally got here from California,and i even took it for a drive today,it runs and drives very good,but those old tires have gotta go lol i have new tires and wheels for it. I am the 2nd owner of this truck,PO started sanding and primering and rebuilt the motor, the first thing i am going to do is sand it down and get some good epoxy primer on it. the truck does not have any rust in the usual places and is in pretty darn good shape.

Looks like a pretty good foundation for a nice truck.
....and I can relate to starting with something that didn't have rust in all the usual places.

Here is my first question about this truck.
It has the usual fuel tank behind the seat,but it also has saddle tanks with a selector valve in the cab between the seat and door. was this an option,or was it added by the owner at a later date. |

nice original black plate truck though. looks like the 327 has been freshened up a bit? and it also looks like you could remove the west coast jr. rear views and bolt a sport or standard stalk mirror right up. me likey!!

3x on the caps...LOL! If those are the stock "clip style" wheels...oh well...too heavy to ship anyway.
 Sweeet truck! It must have been a six cylinder since there is no engine option listed on the build sheet...or did I miss that? The intake, carb and air cleaner all look original. What a nice starting point.

Thank you guys, for all the congrats, every once in a while we stumble on something good. I have been lucky twice in the last 2 years,i better knock on some wood.
Yes it is a 283 2bbl it is the original motor and was rebuilt last year and it runs and starts very smooth. This truck has been in Ca its whole life and i am the 2nd owner,you can tell it does not have many miles on it,did you get a look at those tires,i need to post a pic of the spare,i am guessing it is the original spare tire under there. I found a few new spare parts in the cab,like that rear lens in the AC Delco box,everything on it works to my surprise and the passenger head lamp is one of those T3 lamps. The hubcaps, i am not interested in selling them at this time all though the wheels and tires are being replaced with Rally's. I am still looking for info on the saddle tanks that are under the truck,could they have come from the factory or were they added later,the selector valve to switch between the 3 tanks still works. I am not sure how long the 283 will stay in there i have an LS5 454 i want to drop in. Oh yea it has the 2spd power glide trans. |

yep that is one clean truck , I would not be able to sleep I would be wanting to work on it !
I have been out in the garage working on mine before and lose track of time and not realize what time it was till I notice it getting day light outside ! cool looking truck , did you get the owner's protect-o-plate with it ? that build sheet look's cool to , where was it found in the truck ?

That extra gas tank was an add on, not factory. They were very common back then. I have seen some trucks with a tank on both sides, and some with a tank just under one side. If you dont use it, they are very easy to remove.
I think the hub caps and the blue wheels look great. I would just put some tires on those wheels. But then again, Im kinda partial to hub caps!
