TC 6" EZ Ride Springs.

Strange question, but....

How would you turn a set of 6" spring packs into 4" spring packs?

Can you remove a leaf or 2 and make it lower and still work well?

If not would anyone want to trade a set of 4" lift springs for a 1st Gen Blazer/Jimmy or even a Dana 60...For a brand new set of 6" Tough Country Springs front and back, never installed?

Thanks ahead for the advice.

Re: TC 6" EZ Ride Springs.

I don't think it can be done..I could be wrong. I would think the main leaf in the pack is arched for 6" along with the additional leafs. I would assume some of the shorter leafs may be interchangable but the main leaf is not.
Also the springpacks are built to work togeahter. The packs you see with only 3-4 leafs are built with thicker leafs, the packs with 5-7 leafs have thinner ones. If you start removing leafs from the pack the pack become weaker. I have seen spring packs fail/break on the trail so makin them weaker is not something I would want to flert with.

Re: TC 6" EZ Ride Springs.

Yes started thinking about that...The arch will still be for 6" either way.

I read an article once in Peterson 4wd about taking out a bottom leaf to get more flex and a softer ride...thats where that thought came from.

Oh well, I guess I just need to be patient and find someone who wants to trade thier 4" packs for these 6" ones.

Thanks-RMK

Re: TC 6" EZ Ride Springs.

I saw a guy who had done this on a late model full size blazer. He had converted from independant front to a solid axle. He wanted the height of an 8" spring but still wanted to get a good ride. He took a set of 10" lifted springs and removed the second spring in the pack. Acording to him it worked great and the ride was much better than he expected.
