air filter
i have a edelbrock air filter its 10 inches in diameter and 2 inches tall is this big enough for my engine or do i need to convert back to my stock air filter my engine is a sbc 400

Most people will recommend a 14x4 or 14x5

I'd go bigger. Put a Purolator Filter #PA30067 on it. It fit your base and is 4 inches tall. that's what I have on mine

JUST PUT AN XTREME LID ( THE LID A FILTER ALSO ) & IT wont make any difference how tall the rest of the filter is . the filter lids are even more effective with a cowl hood blowing colder air down thru it .

Personally I wouldn't run an open element air filter on a 4wd. Not if your wheeling in any wet areas.

I would modify the stock air cleaner. So you can use a taller filter and get alittle more air.
