Removing Cab back half
I am salvaging this cab and I have already removed the dash to put it in the 65. I also want to save the back half of the cab, What is the best way to remove it? If I start to remove the spot weld at the roof line will the back half just seperate of the will the inner cab still be attached? Thanks for the help once again. The picture is the cab I am working on.

Re: Removing Cab back half
If you remove the back cab panel the way it was assembled at the factory you will have to have a good spot weld cutter and a little patience, because it will take a little while to remove all of the spot welds.you will have to drill out the spot welds at the roof skin, top to bottom of the b pillars(rockers will have to be removed and out of the way)all across the lower back bottom of the rear cab panel, lower part of inner rear cab panel, around the rear window, and also the brackets will have to be cut loose from the gas tank brackets.sounds like a lot of work, but it is just removing spot welds.thanks and good luck.

Re: Removing Cab back half
this is probablywhere most of the spots are, the roof line , then some where along the drip rail to seperate the door pillars. the inner panel is spotted under the back window/by the gas tank, and then to the door pillars.
if you are going to junk the other cab, you might justs cut the whole thing in half with a sawazall, and the chase the spots. these pics might help: |
