Show me pics of your Jimmy/Blazer exhaust system!
Finally! I'm gathering the exhaust parts for my 70 Jimmy. I'm going with stainless steel and I can't afford to make a mistake $$$$. Thanks.

If possibel, I would find the sport truck mag that showed the Trader Tim's '72 frame shot. They used either stainless or aluminum and it shows the complete routing of the exhaust sytem. Very clean system.

Although you asked about Blazers, I thought this might give some ideas. The Traders truck used a complete Borla stainless steel exhaust system. I'm not sure how different the rear would be because it had a 4-link w/slightly narrowed framerails after the rear cab mounts but the front of the exhaust could be run the same. See pics in back issues of Hot Rod(OCT.93) & Custom & Classic Trucks(Aug.95). Also look @ the truck built in a series of articles in Classic Trucks mag(Mar.01)as it has some pretty decent pics of how it was routed. Hope this helps.

My truck is a driver so I didn't mess with "show quality" appearance. I don't have any photos of the exhaust, but it consists of:
2 1/2: Corvette manifolds (62-65) with brackets sawed off. 2 1/2" aluminized tubing and Dynomax Hemi Turbo mufflers. Tailpipes are bent 45 degrees or so and exit out the side. Both pipes run above the T-case crossmember so absolutely NONE of the exhaust is below the frame. This is a 4x4 obviously. Real four wheelers NEVER use exhaust that pokes straight out the back. First time you have to go bass-ackwards in a mud puddle you pack your pipes full of mud and then you're stuck but good. If you still need pics, let me know. My exhaust isn't anything special, but I can take pics and post them. It is dual exhaust routed pretty good. Barely makes it around the aftermarket gas tank. I just got the blazer so I'm finding new stuff every day.

When I ran my K5 exhaust I used 2 1/2" pipe with, Dynomax full length headers, 2 chamber flowmasters, and routed it over the t-case and out to the back corners then I had him make a 45 degree bend at the tip. Sounds awesome and I have no complaints other then after inspection. I found that the rubber joint on the fuel line was touching one of the mufflers. Easy fix but I was pissed at the potential of burning down my Baby. So check their work. The K5 had duals straight out the back originally and I was getting alot of exhuast leaking into the cab. Yeah, that fuel line is goofy the way it stands off the frame. I bent both of the steel lines parallel to the frame and connected them with a really short rubber hose after that. You had to slide the hose all the way onto one tube, then line the two up and slide the hose across the joint. Don't forget to put the clamps on first!

Thanks for the replies. My truck is in a shop about 20 min. away and I rarely get to see it. I don't have a lift so I wanted to get a pic of the underside so I can obsess over how to run the exhaust and have a picture to guide me. I know I'm going to come out in front of the rear wheels but I'm not sure of the route. I'm trying to avoid going through the frame.
I've got dynomax full length chevelle headers w/3" stainless tubing and Borla 3"/3" offset/center mufflers and 5.5" stainless tips. Yup. I looked pretty closely at my truck, and it seems you could use a 3 1/2" hole saw to cut through the center bearing crossmember (or 4" if you need more clearance), then weld a 2" long by 1/4" wall piece of 3 1/2" pipe in the hole. Then 2 1/2" exhaust could be run through the crossmember with 1/4" clearance on either side. Might be a little tight, so go with the 4". That way you can keep the pipes between the frame rails at least past the back of the trans. The trailing arms are a different story however. Leaf spring rear makes it a LOT easier to do exhaust.
