saw a '60-'61 C-60 today....

Thought it was pretty snazzy.....don't know if I have ever seen this grill before.
All I had was my lousey cell to snap a pic with. There were some emblems on the side of the hood that said Viking.
anyway here is a pic

cool! v8 emblem.... might be a 348, you never know.
I bought some of those viking emblems to put on my 61... they're just cool!
I have seen those grilles, maybe the '60' in the center is a 61 only.
they used those grilles on 60, and 61, and then on 62 and 63 LCF's only 62 and 3 60's-80's had a single headlight version as well.

Re: saw a '60-'61 C-60 today....

the dump truck(61) had a 283
the orange one is a 60
the big cabover is a 60 as well.
interesting is that the 60 has chevrolet scripted across the grille, and the big cabover does not.

Re: saw a '60-'61 C-60 today....

lcf = low cab forward

The guys over at Chevy called these trucks "Low Cab Forward" because the cab was lower than on the older "COE(cab over engine)" style trucks. Of course, that got shortened to "LCF." LCF trucks were about the same as the conventional trucks in series, only instead of being a C-series, they were L-series. They came in all the series, 50-80.

That truck belongs to this guy:
