Re: 19.5 tires
I haven't heard of them being commonly used. Can you get a good price on tires? I always consider replacement cost on tires to persuade my wheel/tire choice.

Re: 19.5 tires
i can get a set for a fe hundred, and the theortically last 150k!!!! so every 5-6 years then have to replace tires, its worth it!

Re: 19.5 tires
You will get allmost double tread life over a standard E rated tire, but at 14-16 ply the ride will be harsh to say the least! It will also be hard to find 19.5 rims for single wheel applications in a standard 8 on 6 1/2" bolt pattern.

Re: 19.5 tires
all i have to do is get an adpater to go to a 10 bolt, that is the only hard part, tire is also wider and taller so the ride should be smother right?

Re: 19.5 tires
No the ride will be alot stiffer due to the heavier ply and load rating. But on the upside..the tires will dry rot before you wear them out!

Re: 19.5 tires
sounds like you want to do it, so get them and then post pics. I always like the look, but like has been said you WILL sacrifice ride.

Re: 19.5 tires
Google 'wheel adaptors'. You find a bunch of options. I have looked into them a couple times but can't remember websites off top of my head. Find wheels before you find adaptors in case you end up with a 12 lug.

Re: 19.5 tires
Alcoa makes a direct bolt 19.5 sinlge wheel. They are a little pricey, but I can't see that it would be more than buying wheels and adapters. I beleive Brentz also makes a 19.5 for SRW, but again they're pricey.
I can confirm the stiffness of ride. I have drive a dually w/ 16" load range E's and one with 19.5" load range F's. They are like a night and day difference. You're also going to notice the stiffness of the tires even more if you're suspension is stiff anyway. I currently run load range D's on my 3/4 ton as I don't carry HUGE loads often and haven't seen any trouble, even w/ 2600lbs of scrap in the bed.

Re: 19.5 tires
you can buy standard 8 lug 19.5" wheels, they are commercially available. You just have to search for em. I am going to put 195's on both of my trucks, they last 3x as long, and they lower your rotating mass, as well as bring your Engine RPM's down at cruise because they are usually taller than standard E rate 16"ers

Re: 19.5 tires
The 19.5's wil INCREASE your roating mass, as they are alot heavier than the standard load range E tire. I the Bridgestones I had weighed 63lbs a peice, and that's just the tire. They will give you slightly better milage (1-2 mpg) because they are stiffer, which reduces rolling resistance, and they are taller which reduces engine rpm. They are also narrower than similar height tires which increases aerodynamics.
Here's spec's on the Bridgestone R187's I had. I would expect other manufacturers to be very comparable. http://brentzwheels.com/wheels.html

Re: 19.5 tires
No, it may actually help, in many cases the taller wheels can weigh less because they have less of a side wall, there for your unsprung mass will be less, but really there will be little noticeable difference.
