The time has come.... truck will soon be lowered! What size tire to use?
Owned my truck for 2 years and I always wanted to lower it, but never had the time, or money of course. I first had to tackle some mechanical issues, and am not sorting out the body work. Pretty soon, I will be removing the bed to swap for a cleaner bed. That would be a perfect time to add the lowering kit.
I am going 2/4 via spindles and shackles/hangers. I have full sets of tires to use. I can either use 235/60/15 bf-goodrich or 255/70/15 kelly chargers. Ideally, 255/60/15 tires would be what I want, but I don't have the money and I have those 2 great sets of tires to use. I am trying to get away from the "balloon" tire look. I currently am running 265/75/15 tires and those are certainly balloon tires. I am afraid the 255/70/15 will also give a balloon affect. The 235/60 will probably give me that better go-cart tire look, but I am afraid with such a mild drop like a 2/4, there will be too much gap? Which should I go with?

I ended up going with 235/60 front and 255/60 rear for the alloys. I picked up factory rally wheels which I will run in the winter with 255/70/15 tires that I have.
Looks a bit goofy with those 235's up front but once I lower it I think it should look good. When I start making real money, I will run 275 in rear and 255 up front.

Yea the shorter tire will look funny for a bit but will look fine with the drop.
