Re: drivers side door
for the window I would start with adjustment, if its still doing the same thing, it might be worn out

Re: drivers side door
alot of the time on the widows the material in the tracks comes apart and acts like a stopper.. take the door panel off and clean them. then use a water based lube and see what ya have.. as to the shutting see if the door wiggles up an down in the open position you may need bushings and hinge pins..
lube the beck outta the lock with white grease lastly is the striker and the lock alligned properly?

Re: drivers side door
Hinge pins and bushings....The door has probably drooped some or a lot It is very common for this to affect the alignment of the striker pin, causing hard shutting/bouncing back open. Sometimes the previous owner will have adjusted the hinge to make up for this, but it does not cure the real problem, so it comes back.
The window could be as simple as lack of lubrication, worn guides, or even misaligned guides due to "slamming" the door that won't shut.

Re: drivers side door
Weatherstripping can also cause the door not to shut easily. If you remove it and the door shuts easily, either replace it or cut off the portions that are hitting the door wrong. The window difficulty can be caused by dirty tracks or the guide tracks coming apart in the door where the window goes up and down. I just fixed my driver's window by taking the door panels off and lubricating the window crank gears, the roller tracks and rollers with white lubriplate. You can see these rollers (4) when you roll the window down into the door. I'm just starting here in this web site. You are very prolific with almost 500 posts. I've got issues with my '85 C-10, and am getting good ideas from this forum, hope you are too.
