I'm planing on changing my air on my 1970 to R-134, should I try to do it myself or take to a shop? Thanks

Re: Changing to R-134

Changing to 134 will require a complete change of all o-rings and a complete flush and evacuation. If you're just low on R12 look into using Freeze 12. It's compatible with R12 and to me cools better (even down here in humidville).

Re: Changing to R-134

it is not hard to do you don't really have to change the seals but they will not last but maybe a year. to do it right change all the o rings and drain the oil out of the compressor. IF you have r-12 is the system DO NOT just let it go int eh the air it will kill the ozone. take it to a shop and most shops will pull it out for free
