Manuals on CD-ROM - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Does anyone have any experience/comments with the Detroit Iron truck manuals on CD-ROM? I'm not sure if they're the actual original shop manuals (like the one I had 35 years ago) and want to be sure before I spend $50. Are there any other sources for more detailed manuals besides the Chilton/Haynes ones?

I've got a service manual and factory assembly manual in addition to the Chilton/Haynes manuals. Service manuals will look like something on this order, depending on year:

I myself, hate manuals on CDs. I'm a very computer oriented person, but when it comes to hundreds of pages, I'd rather have a paper version. Especially if you're working on slower computers and you're using pdf files, which the CD content is most likely in.

Thanks for the link, I'd rather have a paper manual myself but didn't know where to find one. I'll go ahead and order one.

There's a vendor at the Charlotte "Food Lion Auto Fair" that does manuals.He usually has several for the 67-72 trucks.I have gotten a 68 version of the manual above and a chassis service manual(almost not quite the same),I have collected several manuals for these trucks and the factory service manuals seem to be some of the best.I also have a Haynes but it doesn't seem as detailed as the factory one.You should also order a LMC catalog.They are usually higher on the price than our BB vendors but their catalog has great diagrams on parts placement.
www.Motorbooks.com has a good selection of titles for these trucks also.Niether my Service or Chassis service manual has an ISBN in it which is a # assigned by the Library of Congress to books to facilitate copyrights and other catagorizing.(I think it started after they were published.One other thing,the manual guy i get from in Charlotte does the spring show in Carlisle Pn. so if you're there you may be able to find a manual.(I don't have contact info for him sorry)
