Some recent junk

This is stuff I was messing with before I got my 78 Silverado.
I knew my black truck was a long way from looking original and two tone blue
and white, so I've been going through trucks pretty fast lately looking for a keeper. I kept thinking that "this is the one" then I would find another one, I kinda stressed myself out on a couple of those, trying to decide which one to focus on.

Re: Some recent junk

No I'm not crazy about grey and black, it was just easy colors to work with.
The Jimmy is cool, but I'm not in love with it.
The blue and white Silverado would have cleaned up, but it would have worn
me out, but it is getting a new owner that will give it the tlc it needs.
I swapped good parts from the 73orange/white truck to my 77, and I still
made the 73 look decent.
The last is of my 77 a couple years ago.

Man, it makes me sad here in the Northeast seeing these clean trucks. You must come up here sometime to learn about rust. My truck is a bunch of rusty parts flying in close formation. All of yours are .....just .....like I wish mine was.

Thanks. I never got a chance to tear into the blue and white one because the
I got the 78 soon after. I will fix it if the guy decides not to buy it, but it won't be restored or even close to it, because I wouldn't get my investment back. Dallas is broke, you're lucky if you can get $1000 for good running and driving truck, short or long bed.

I had to trade that primered FS shortbed for a 99 Blazer with missing parts and a bad trans. Both were pretty worthless imo, but at least I was able to sell the Blazer.

All the money lately has been out of town, like a guy in Miami Fla. is buying
my 79 Blazer, and guy in Austin drove here to get a Volvo turbo coupe, and
my neighbor got pretty good money for a 85 LB Silverado from a guy in Houston.

I like stepsides and shortbeds ok, but it's so much easier to find a nicer unmolested longbed in my area than a short bed, that and I like the look of longbeds better.

I'm pretty tired if repairing prev owner hack jobs at this point, but I would
still rather patch one back together than junk it, and that blue and white one
would be a gonner by now if I had not bought it from the junkyard when I did.

My buddy got this blue Short bed for $1000 but a PO put a hot cam in the stock engine so it doesn't run worth a flip, and it had a few things rigged.
I'm swapping the engine with the blue and white truck right now.
Check out the high speed rattle can action!

Re: Some recent junk

Good runnning 350 from the 76 going into the 83, but I have to weld a frame crack first.
Might as well weld the stress cracks in the door too. (I love my Clark MIG welder )
I went pretty fast as we keep new parts like motor mounts in stock. I hate taking time from work to go to the parts store.

I should have it hooked up and running perfect by lunch time.
