there is a pigtail connected to column and its a black wire, behind the metal panel on the bottom of the dash

if you go to the local chain auto parts store you can look in the haynes manual and they have wiring diagrams in them .. actually being you have alot to do with your truck, it is prolly a wise investment as between the advice on here and that book, you will prolly have most of the answers you will ever need when it comes to repairing or rebuilding your truck... every time i buy a new vehicle i get both the haynes and chilton book for the vehicle... if you get more into it there are shop ,anuals from the manufacturer that are worth their weight in gold too
