yay!!!!

I finally got the valve seals replaced it still smokes but not as bad as it did so i call this a success

The engine also feels like it has its balls back not that all the rockers are adjusted correctly some where too tight others to loose. And it has the correct fuel pressure for the edelbrock carb have it set at 5 psi.

The timing was also way to far retarded it was at -10* retarded so it was a gutless wonder i have new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, and fuel filter

Sorry for the rambling but i am just happy to have the truck running vary well. Now i need to fix the tranny pan leak and rear seal thank got it's a 2 piece

Re: yay!!!!

Sounds good. You notice any better mpg?

Don't you miss your Mopar now? Not having to adjust the rockers is great.

i didn't drive it varry far to see if it is getting better milage but i think it is goingto i do not have to have my foot in it as mutch. i realy do need a diffrent intake though the "torker" just does not have any "tork" down low to move this beast. thinking of getting a performer or performer EPS

ya i miss the diplomat i did the day it left but it needed way to mutch frame and body work

Re: yay!!!!

You have a torker on it?

yeah you need a dual plane intake on that thing.

Torkers are usually for cars that already make alot of torque down low and are looking to get more HP higher in the rpm band.

That's the intake I have on the R/T

Re: yay!!!!

Get the performer eps!! I have one and it is way better than the standard performer. You have to remember the performer design has been around for longer than a can remember. The EPS has smoother bends inn the runners and it looks like the runners are alittle bigger. I replaced the Performer on my 82 with the EPS due to the performer had been repaired for cracks in the exhaust recirculation ports. The newer design seems to have a slightly different design in that area as well.

Re: yay!!!!

Car craft did a test on those and the Torker didn't gain much at all at top end over the EPS, and lost quite a bit of HP to the EPS for the average.
And this was on a built engine, not a stock one.

Re: yay!!!!

well then i will save up some money and do that. i rember looking at the engine going "why does this fairly stock mid seventies truck have a low rise single plain manifold?" then i try to punch it from a stop and going "why can't this mid seventies truck with a V8 and 4:10 gears and open diff break them loose?"

i think it is the intake. might even be the 882 smog heads that are on it as well
