HEI wires

I need to hook up my HEI and can't find the diagram for the wire connections.
I have only one wire to connect from the engine harness but there are 3 on the
skip white unit- RED BLACK and YELLOW.
Anyone know what the wires do?
s/t

Re: HEI wires

Are those the wires that plug into the cap?

Re: HEI wires

No, they come out of the bottom of the dizzy. I didn't even look at the cap real close. I know it has the coil but you have me thinking....

Re: HEI wires

it plugs into the cap, right behind the coil/tach plugs

Lightbulb Re: HEI wires

Man to I feel stupid I had remembered seeing something that said what the connections were for, and after Low'n Slow asked his question got me thinking that those plugged in the cap. When I went out to look at the cap it was self explanatory
I ordered the dizzy back in February 08 and haven't touched it since.
Thanks for the clarification.

Re: HEI wires

you will also need a 12v supply from the battery to the terminal that is right in front of that plug, look at the top of the cap ( plastic cover ) and it should be marked tach / battery. Have to do this or you will not get power to the coil so it will fire and run
