Front tire/rim combo question
I have a 67 shortbox, what are you guys running at the track for front tires/rims? 15x5, 15x6? etc and what size and brand of tire. The engine is almost done, should be on track by mid May, just want to tie up the loose ends. Thanks

Re: Front tire/rim combo question
Mine are the cragar prostars 15x3.5 they look just like the Weld aluma star with 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern,(ford car) Great deal at the swap meet... Helps to be a machinist.. The tire are 195/15. Not a 60 or 70 just 195/15 The dealer told me they were stock VW bug tires? The rears were 15x12 bolt pattern are 5 on 4.750 .... Now i know why they were such a good deal two diff bolt patterns but the were Still in the box

Re: Front tire/rim combo question
does weight constitute how skinny of a rim you can run up front? it just seems like my Iron-headed big block would fold 15X3.5 or something over

Re: Front tire/rim combo question
With the spool in the back It will shove the front tires real easy when turning into a drive or something like that. I would think that a dot wheel should handle the weight of a big block just fine... And there are a lot of big blocks in drag cars with skinny wheels at the track......
