3/4 Ton Pics
Hey everyone,
I have a C20 3/4 ('72) that I want to start working on. Does anybody have any pictures of 3/4 ton restores. I want to cut the bed but thats about it. Wondering if I am gonna have problems with finding parts and or wheels since they are 8 lug nuts. Any help would be appreciated. Please show pictures. |

Re: 3/4 Ton Pics
Finding parts for a 3/4 ton 8-lug setup is not bad. The aftermarket wheel selection is limited, of course. I just redid all my brakes on my '72 3/4 ton longbed, wasn't very expensive. Some parts from the 1973-1987 Chevy trucks will interchange.
If you convert the 8-lug rear from drums to disc brakes, then it will cost a bit. I have not done that conversion myself, so others might be able to tell you.

Re: 3/4 Ton Pics
before spending much money on the rear, you may want to look into drums ans shoes. You may find they are no longer avalible.
If so, I recomend swapping stuff out, either converting it to a 1/2 ton, or later model 3/4 ton stuff if you want a 3/4 ton SWB. Otherwise, as far as rim choice, you'll probably want to stick to 16 inch instead of 16.5 for tire selection and cost. You can find a bunch of rim choices in 4X4 magizines. |

Re: 3/4 Ton Pics
What do you want to see photos of, specifically? The bed? Rear axle or undercarriage?

Re: 3/4 Ton Pics
There are plenty of 8-lug wheels available. There`s just an insane amount of wheels available for 5-lug by comparison.(most are fugly anyway).

Re: 3/4 Ton Pics
When I did my truck, I was looking for something that wont look dated 10 or 20 years from now. I went with colors and wheels from that era that still look good today.
